In a technology-obsessed society, where 500 million tweets are uploaded to the internet every day and 1,28 billion people are connected to Facebook on a regular basis, how can one know that… has started to overdo it?

According to Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, author of The Distraction Addiction, here are some of the "signs" that might worry you…

If you recognize yourself in any of these έχετε you have probably started overdoing it with social media!

1. Make sweets, food and various other things just to then upload your photos to Instagram

Did you spend more time making your salad more για presentable on your social media profile? (Where "salad", put whatever else you want).

"Once you realize that you have begun to adapt your life to be more friendly to tw twitter and Instagram, then it is time to do it back," comments Pang. "Do not undermine your ability to simply be yourself."

2. You can not paint your nails without informing your followers

Everyone has a "friend" on social media, who you share every detail of his life on social media.

"Sending messages about what you do every moment, or how you feel, or submitting your thoughts in real time, are all signs that social media has begun to take over your life," says Pang. "Every day has only 24 hours and the more one spends time wasting to explain to online friends how they feel, or what they are doing at any given time, the less time they will have to discover the true joys of life."

3. You do not feel well when you can not access the internet from your mobile

Do you belong to the category of those who, while waiting for the traffic light to turn green, take a look at their Facebook profile? When you are with your friends, instead of looking them in the eye, is your gaze focused on the screen of your mobile phone?

The more time you spend "liking", the more time you lose from real contact with the people around you.
