In the impressive coupe shape of the Mitsubishi SUV stand out: the wedge-shaped profile with the sharp, characteristic lines, a rear windshield with tilt forward, the short cantilevers and finally the muscular bumpers that refer to the image of a strong athlete.

The design philosophy of MMC Dynamic Shield is reflected in the protective shape created visually by the central area of the black grille that indicates the performance of the car. The black area is defined by three directions, left, right and bottom. The Dynamic Shield philosophy emphasizes the functionality of the front end, which aims to protect people and the vehicle itself.

The Dynamic & Characteristic design philosophy at the rear is characterized by the almost cubist style created around the high elongated taillights and the horizontal division of the sloping rear windshield in two. When lit, the LED brake lights and the high-mounted central LED stop light create a light bar that runs through the entire rear, giving the Eclipse Cross breadth and robustness.

Driving pleasure with four-wheel drive

The Eclipse Cross uses an electronically controlled 4WD system that distributes the optimal amount of torque to the rear wheels according to the requirements of the driving condition and the type of road. MMC's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC *) integrated vehicle dynamic control system includes AYC5 with voice activation.

The addition of a 3-point canopy bar at the front and the strategic use of structural welds at the rear in particular have increased the rigidity of the body. The most durable body and the optimization of the suspension in the details offer precise handling and stability.

The Eclipse Cross is available with two engines that achieve the right balance of power and environmental performance. The new supercharged 1.5lt direct-injection gasoline engine is combined with a new CVT with 8-speed Sport Mode and the possibility of mechanical changes. The supercharged 2.2lt direct injection diesel engine that has been specially modified for the Eclipse Cross is combined with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. Both combinations of powertrains offer a vibrant driving experience.

Active Yaw Control manages torque distribution and braking force on each rear wheel to help the vehicle behave according to the driver's intentions, using information on steering angle, body rotation coefficient, engine torque, power braking and wheel speed to accurately determine the driver's commands and vehicle behavior.
