Strawberry dessert spoon

Ingredients for 6 people

  • 1 kg of strawberries
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 kg of sugar
  • 2 cups water
  1. Wash and clean the strawberries by removing their stalks. If they are small, leave them whole, if they are large, cut them in half.
  2. Put them on a deep plate, sprinkle with lemon juice and leave for 2-3 hours.
  3. Put the sugar with the water in a saucepan over the fire and stir to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Boil the syrup for 5 minutes covered without stirring.
  5. Put the strawberries in the pot (if you do not get them all, put half of them) and boil for 5 minutes, removing the foam.
  6. Put the strawberries in a colander and if necessary repeat the above step with the rest.
  7. Boil the syrup on its own to bind, adding the drained strawberries.
  8. Put the strawberries again and cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Get off the fire. While the dessert is cooling, shake the pot back and forth several times to inflate the strawberries.
  10. Store in large, sterile jars (preferably to prevent the strawberries from dissolving).
