Socks with mizithra

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 100 gr. yeast
  • 2 flitz. tea goat milk
  • 1 flitz. teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 flitz. teaspoon sugar (for dough)
  • 3 egg yolks and 1 for spread
  • 1 1/2 tbsp soft flour
  • 2 k. Sweet mizithra
  • 2-3 vanillas
  • 3 egg whites
  • sugar
  • cinnamon powder

Implementation

  1. First, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk. Mix the oil with the sugar and the egg yolks.
  2. Add the flour and knead. Open in a thick sheet.
  3. Add to the mizithra as much sugar as you want, the egg whites and the vanilla and knead until the ingredients are homogenous.
  4. After we open the leaf, we cut it into round pieces with the mouth of a large glass and after we put the mixture of mizithra, we form round socks.
  5. We pinch them with the fork to get the characteristic shape, we spread them with egg and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.
  6. Let them swell for about 3 hours. Then bake them in a preheated oven at 180 ° C until golden brown.
