- 2 cups sugar tea
- 2 cups of water tea
- 1 cup of tea fresh lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- peel of a lemon
For halva
- 1 cup of olive oil
- 1 cup of fine semolina tea
- 1 cup thick semolina tea
- 1/2 cup whole or coarsely chopped almonds
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Implementation
For the syrup
- In a saucepan pour all the ingredients for the syrup, except the lemon juice, to boil for about 5-6 minutes.
- Then, once the syrup has set, add the lemon juice and let the syrup boil again over low heat, until it sets again.
For halva
- In another non-stick pan with a heavy bottom, pour the olive oil to heat and sauté the semolina, until it turns brown.
- Add the almonds and cinnamon powder. Saute for 1-2 minutes and gradually add all the syrup, without the cinnamon stick.
- When the halva thickens, put it in a form and let it cool for about 1 hour.
- Then turn it over on a serving platter and garnish with whole almonds or walnuts if desired.
