What the English police are pulling

The Manchester Police Department received an emergency call for a different "crime" that took place in a restaurant in the city.

Which the police themselves confessed on their Twitter account! "A customer was obviously outraged because they put sauce on his potatoes," they wrote. However, when the police arrived at the scene of the crime, the store was closed. "And since we did not receive any more phone calls, we assumed that no one had been abused," they added.

999 from fish & chip shop earlier this week - customer kicking off, apparently because they put gravy on his chips.

Shop was closed when we got there later, and in the absence of any other calls, we've assumed no-one got battered… pic.twitter.com/TMZHK3mgJq

Police departments have been using social media for a long time, in an effort to make their investigation more popular, but here the thing was comically tragic.
