A Child Psychiatrist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosis and treatment as well as in the prevention of mental disorders in children and adolescents from the age of birth to the age of 18 years. Education
The psychiatric education of children and adolescents requires the study and completion of medical school and then five years of education and obtaining the specialty title in Child Psychiatry which includes specialized education in Neurology, General Psychiatry and Psychiatry of Children, Adolescents and Children. In some countries, it also includes education in Pediatrics. In the period of general psychiatry the doctor achieves his specialization in the basic elements of the theory and practice of psychiatry.
