Famagusta MP of the Democratic Alarm Kyriakos Hatzigiannis had a meeting with the Mayor of Lysis, Mr. Andreas Kaouris.
The Mayor mentioned to Mr. Hatzigiannis the problems faced by the refugee world and discussed the practical ways that could be promoted.

THE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT KYRIAKOS HATZIGIANNIS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LYSIS
The Member of Parliament for the Democratic Alarm of Famagusta, Kyriakos Hatzigiannis, visited this morning the Mayor of Lysis, Andreas Kaouris, at the temporary offices of the Municipality in Larnaca and discussed with him the problems faced by the Refugee Municipality and the refugee world in general.
The Mayor of Lysis, after thanking the Member of Parliament for Famagusta for his interest, pointed out the main problems faced by the Municipality and the refugee world in general.
Some of which are:
1. The strengthening of the understaffed services of the refugee Municipalities and their infrastructure.
2. The inspection and repair of the houses in the refugee Settlements
3. Strengthen the efforts of the refugee Municipalities to preserve the traditions and values of the homeland and their transmission to the new generations of refugees, in order to keep the flame of return that is the main reason and mission of the refugee Municipalities.
4. To thoroughly reconsider the role and mission of the refugee Municipalities with the appropriate government assistance, forty-six years after the violent uprooting and refugee status.
5. To promote the issue of declassification of the fields of Lysiotes that are under English administration in the Bases but can not use them due to the interventions of the inhabitants of the area, behind which is the occupying army. The final settlement is pending in the competent services of the Ministry of Interior. The whole issue was discussed in the Parliamentary Committee for Refugees and is expected to return to a new session soon.
During their meeting, the Member of Parliament for Famagusta and the Mayor of Lysis had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Interior on issues related to his responsibility.
