The developments after the arrest of a 50-year-old man in Dasaki tis Achnas, who was allegedly connected to a case of finding a large amount of drugs last March in Larnaca, are fast-paced.

A 26-year-old man from Larnaca was arrested yesterday by YKAN for the same case, while a 37-year-old man was arrested in March, who is under trial.

The three behave as members of a well-organized circle, who trafficked large quantities of drugs throughout Cyprus.

According to his information filenews both the 50-year-old and the 26-year-old were scientifically linked to a case that was revealed on March 25 last year when 37 kg of marijuana, hash weighing 2,5 kg and 1 grams and traces of cocaine were found in the house of a 777-year-old from Larnaca.

At that time, only the 37-year-old had been arrested, against whom a case was registered that is being heard before the Permanent Criminal Court. Due to the fact that the 50-year-old resides in Dasaki Achnas, YKAN informed the British Bases who raided his house on Tuesday afternoon. Half a kilo of marijuana, a collection of antiquities and more than €120,000, believed to have come from drug trafficking, were found in it.

In the 50-year-old's house, a very large number of evidence was also found, such as offensive instruments found in the microscope of the British Bases. The Department of Antiquities was informed about the antiquities. In parallel with the Bases operation, the Larnaca Police Department proceeded to arrest the 26-year-old, who re-employed the service.

The suspect was brought before the Larnaca District Court which ordered his detention for six days. The 50-year-old, meanwhile, was brought before the British Magistrates' Court which ordered his detention until Friday. YKAN is cooperating with the BB Authorities to investigate the case.
