This was stated by the Government Spokesman, Prodromos Prodromou, in a commemorative speech he delivered at the annual national memorial of the Heroes of the National Association "Mavrommatis" of Agios Pavlos and the National Union "Mavrommatis" of Agios Dimitrianos Larnakos of Lapithria (EEZ), as well as the threats for settlement of the city of Famagusta.

"It is either trying to blackmail decisions through the threat of expanding the occupation regime in Famagusta, while at the same time with the open attack at sea it is trying to impose developments and schemes that would effectively devalue the very existence and international status of the Republic of Cyprus."
The Government Spokesman referred to the statement of President Anastasiadis last night at the anti-occupation event for Famagusta, that we will not remain inactive.
