On Saturday 31/10 the MP of the Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation Mr. George Perdikis and the Deputy Secretary of the Executive Secretariat Mr. George Stylianidis together with members of the Famagusta District Committee, had the opportunity to tour the area of the community of Avgoros.
First they visited the Levanta park CyHerbia Botanical Park & Labyrinth where they discussed with the progressive owners of the park, and their plans to enrich their activities. The Ecologists Movement since 2005 is next to this pioneering effort. We support every effort that promotes organic production and alternative tourism.
Then the delegation of Ecologists conducted an on-site search in an area near the monastery of Agios Kendeas where rubble and large quantities of biomass and garbage are accumulated.
The Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation, asks the competent authorities to move quickly and decisively in order to collect the garbage and pruning and to make sure that no more is collected. The accumulation of such large volumes of rubbish and pruning poses a risk of ignition which will cause serious problems in the safety and health of the inhabitants of neighboring houses.
