Easter in Ayia Napa will be special this year as well, as it perfectly combines the religious enthusiasm, the customs and traditions of our place with the traditional games, the dance, the music and the entertainment.
On Easter Sunday at 10.30 in the morning will be held at the Holy Temple of Panagia Ayia Napa the Vespers of Love where the Gospel will be read in various languages. A rich artistic traditional program follows at 7.00 pm, which will last until late at night. The program will start with dances and songs from Cyprus, the islands and Asia Minor, which will be presented by the Dance Club of the Municipality of Ayia Napa and Kimon Xylotympou. Then the Dance Ensemble "Aradippos-Karotseris" together with the Ensemble "Erofili" Rethymno Crete and organ players in Daouli and Zourna from Naoussa will present a rich music and dance program with songs and dances from Cyprus, Crete and Macedonia.
The Easter Monday The program will start at 16.00 with sousas and chiattista under the trumpet by the Dance Club of the Municipality of Ayia Napa At 17.30 will take place the traditional games, in which the Youth Council of the Municipality will actively participate. The Easter spree will start at 7.30 pm, which will last until midnight. It will include a concert with Nasos, Eva Baila and Pano Psaltis, dances, songs, folk poetry, chiatsata with Elias Hatzimichael, Theofani Theofanous and Antonis Koryzis.
The Youth Council will undertake in cooperation with the Municipality the cooking of food in the traditional oven, which together with the drink will be available for sale and the net income will be given for charitable purposes.
