Fines of 1100 euros and 700 euros were imposed today on a 35-year-old and a 23-year-old, respectively, by the Famagusta District Court, for cases of sale of nitrogen (laughing gas).

According to a police statement, the Famagusta District Court, during the trial of the two cases of illegal sale of nitrous oxide, today found the 35-year-old and the 23-year-old guilty of committing the crime of reckless administration of medicine, ie anesthetic and committing the offense of negligent and reckless acts.

The court, it is added, imposed a fine of 1100 euros on the 35-year-old, who members of the Police had located shortly after midnight on Thursday, August 16, in the Ayia Napa area, engaged in the sale of nitrous oxide.

The 23-year-old, who was found by members of the Police at around 11.50 last night, Tuesday, August 14, in the area of ​​Ayia Napa, engaged in the sale of nitrous oxide, the Court imposed a fine of 700 euros.

In addition, as reported, the Police proceeded to the immediate registration for trial in the District Court of Famagusta, two more cases of illegal sale of nitrous oxide.

The accused in the first case is a 23-year-old woman, who was found by members of the Police half an hour after midnight last Tuesday, August 14, to be engaged in the sale of nitrous oxide in the Ayia Napa area.

In the second case, the accused is a 22-year-old woman, who was found by members of the Police at around 1.00 am today, Friday, in the Ayia Napa area, to be engaged in the sale of nitrous oxide.

The court ordered that the two young women remain in custody in the Central Prison, until next Monday, August 20, when the trial of the cases is scheduled.

The investigation of the four cases was undertaken by the Ayia Napa police station.
