DISY Famagusta MP George Karoullas took an important initiative for the inclusion of the province of Famagusta in housing projects KOAG.
In a letter sent last October to the Cyprus Land Development Organization, he requested the inclusion of free Famagusta in the housing programs of KOAG, while on his own initiative he coordinated the local authorities of free Famagusta for the allocation of plots of land and their development. which is expected to start in 2022.
As stated by DISY Famagusta MP George Karoullas, the goal is to accelerate the procedures for offering affordable housing and affordable housing to individuals and families with lower income criteria.
The letter was sent in October to KOAG and the Ministry of Interior because, as he said, in contact with people and young couples with lower income criteria, it became clear that there is a need to include the province of Famagusta in the plans of KOAG, so that the dream of housing for the acquisition of a privately owned house to be possible by couples in the province of Famagusta.
As he mentioned, a consultation has started with the local authorities which are expected to send the available land to the COAG in order to then examine the interest of the potential buyers. So far, as he said, there is a positive evaluation by the COAG for the proposal and within the year it will be possible to select the land based on criteria and then in 2022 the planning and further implementation will proceed.
On his part, the Chairman of the Board of KOAG, Marios Pelekanos stated that on the initiative of George Karoullas, meetings have been held with the heads of local authorities in the province and now the organization is in the process of implementing the project, through assessment of eligible land and needs. of the households.
