A 40-year-old man from the free province of Famagusta is in the hands of the police yesterday, as a suspect in a case of child pornography.
According to the police, suspicions were raised that the suspect was accessing child pornography material via the internet.
Yesterday at dawn, members of the Office for Combating Cybercrime and the Judicial Laboratory of Electronic Data conducted a search of the suspect's home, during which they found possession of child pornography material.
Police arrested the man and obtained evidence from his home, including a computer, a laptop, a tablet, a mobile phone and eight hard drives.
The suspect was brought before the provincial court of Famagusta today, which decided on his eight-day detention, for the purpose of investigating the case.
