The largest photovoltaic park that has been installed so far in Cyprus, with a total capacity of 4.4 MWp, is now interconnected with the network of the Cyprus Electricity Authority. The PV park belongs to the company CYPV Energy Ltd, which is directly affiliated with the GDL Green Energy Group. SunTechnics Ltd, a subsidiary of the GDL Green Energy Group, is the company that has undertaken the management, operation and maintenance of this megawatt PV park.

This photovoltaic park, as well as the other two projects of CYPV Energy Ltd with a total capacity of 3MW, were funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). It is important to mention that this is the first time that the EBRD invests in Cyprus in photovoltaic technology.

The implementation of these photovoltaic parks offer multiple social and environmental benefits. The shift to "green" energy production creates additional jobs on the island and contributes significantly to the protection of the environment.

The largest photovoltaic park in Cyprus located in Frenaros is estimated to save about 5.500 tons of CO2 per year of operation, which is equivalent to absorbing this amount of CO2 from 11.000 acres of forest, which in turn is equivalent to 1.100.000 trees.

12756 RECOM Amur Leopard RCM-345-6MA-SW photovoltaic panels with a peak power of 345Wp each have been installed, which will channel their energy to 85 inverters ABB TRIO - 50.0 - TL-OUTD.

Following the connection to the EAC grid, it is estimated that the photovoltaic park will save approximately 4.630 tons of CO2 per year of operation.

The company CYPV Energy Ltd with the completion of this photovoltaic park, realizes its vision for large energy investments in Cyprus with the use of photovoltaics and strengthens the strong commitment in this direction by driving even larger investments in the near future with a total capacity of 25MW. Now the company, with the completion of the three projects with a total capacity of 7.4MW, becomes the largest company for the production of electricity from photovoltaic parks in Cyprus.
