In the aftermath of the tragic events that shocked the Cypriot society and concern the excessive consumption of alcohol by minors, took place last Wednesday, May 23, 2019 from 10 am-12pm, at the City Hall of Paralimni, the scheduled round table the evaluation of the participating Municipalities in the European project LocaliseIT, which is subsidized by the Health Fund of the European Union (2014-2020).
During the meeting the evaluator Dr. Silke Diestelkamp, from the German Center for Addiction Research in Children and Adolescents, asked some questions to the participants about the implementation of the action "EUROPARENTS" in the Municipality of Paralimni, which aims to inform parents about the prevention of episodic alcohol and alcohol abuse. .
The project involves 11 countries, 22 municipalities of which the Municipality of Paralimni and the Municipality of Aglantzia for Cyprus. The Municipality of Paralimni as a beneficiary, under the guidance of the project partner "KENTHEA", chose to implement the action "EUROPARENTS" in collaboration with 25 citizens from various social organizations, such as the clergy, the Youth Council, staff of the Municipality, cultural association "Anemoessa", the cultural workshop "By the Lake", volunteers and so on.
The role of the participating citizens is to be educated as Europarents and in turn to train other parents, so that the good practice and the know-how that governs it, bring positive results to the society of the Municipality of Paralimni.
