The study prepared for the planning of the tourism strategy of the Municipality of Paralimni took place yesterday afternoon at the Municipal Palace of Paralimni in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Tourism Mr. Savva Perdiou. The presentation of the study was undertaken by the company CMRC Cypronetwork ltd, after the award of the contract, which was made following a tender announcement by the Municipality of Paralimni, following a proposal by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Municipality Mr. Loizos Loizos, as a necessity and 21st century call for the quality and substantial upgrade of the tourist product of the Municipality of Paralimni.
In the presentation by Messrs. Christos and Pampos Michailidis, since the current situation in the tourist context of the Municipality was initially presented, practices were presented which concerned the detailed planning of actions for the further development of the tourist product in the area of Paralimni Municipality. These practices refer to aspects and dimensions that go beyond the traditional and yet timeless product "sun and sea" giving an emphatic reference to the development of alternative tourism products such as gastronomy, religious, cultural, diving and nautical tourism, online presence , in the improvement of infrastructure, in the development of alternative tourist products, in the synergies with the other Municipalities and communities of the province of Famagusta through of course the two-way cooperation of the State with the private sector.
The elaboration of the study was welcomed by both the Mayor of Paralimni Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, giving special thanks to Mr. Loizos Loizou for the initiative, perseverance and hard work through which the composition of the study was implemented and the company CMR Cypronetwork ltd for the productive and quality result prepared. Specifically, the Undersecretary stated that the Municipality of Paralimni, through this strategy, is a pioneer and responds to the maximum suggestions proposed through the National Tourism Strategy 2020-2030, in which in addition to the common policy to be followed to upgrade the tourism product , each region is beneficial and at the same time necessary, as it designs its own strategy responding to its own characteristics and needs, in order to achieve the best possible result for the successful dissemination and promotion of the quality upgraded tourism product, both domestically and in world market internationally, so that it additionally functions as one of the most strategic levers for the development of the Cypriot economy. Finally, he stated that the Ministry of Tourism will be in synergy with the Municipality of Paralimni and a helper for the successful execution of this process.
It is noteworthy that on March 11, 2020, as stated by the Mayor, the theory turns into practice, since the company implements the practices suggested through the study, with the citation of the first workshop, in the presence of officials of the Ministry of Tourism, to interested parties to participate in this process, who will be informed immediately about the exact time of the workshop.
