The theatrical team of the Cultural Association "ROMIOSYNI" uploads this year the Cypriot comedy of Babis Charalambous "The testimonies of a refugee" on Wednesday 23 and Wednesday 30 May 2018, 8:00 p.m. at the Xenion High School Amphitheater.

The case of the project, which reflects real events, unfolds shortly after the Turkish invasion and refers to the case of a refugee, who is accused and treated unfavorably because of his daily suspicious visits to a Bank. With the suspicion of deposits and possession of money, the protagonist experiences strange and bizarre situations, comic misunderstandings and ridiculous developments within the family, with those around him but also with the state institutions.services. Until in the end the mystery will end up in the Police, where it will be fully investigated.

The author Babis Charalambous

He was born in 1942 in Agios Georgios Spatharikou, Famagusta province. He studied at the Hellenic High School of Famagusta and at the Pedagogical Academy of Cyprus. Later he had a two-year training in Athens. He deals with various types of written language, mainly with humorous short story. In 1980 he won the gold medal and the first prize in the international competition of humorous short story "ALEKO" in Bulgaria. In 1998 he received the first prize of Children's Literature of the Cyprus Association of Children and Youth Books with the merry stories of Hazobaba. He started publishing his comics in 1969, while his plays were occasionally broadcast on RIK radio. At the same time, he has published fifteen books to date: "Attila and I", "The Missing", "Those who do not land", "We will erect a statue for you whether you want it or not!", "By force a statue", "The retirees" and children's books: "The exploits of Marianna and her daddy", "Dad and Marianna are tourists in Italy", "How smart you are, Dad!", "Dad is smart", "The sly cat Andronikos" , "The fairy and the witch", "The Tzitziris the cicada", "With your permission, Barba-Aesop" and "The pigs escaped". His theatrical works are the comedies "The testimonies of a refugee", "By the statue by force", "Cemetery for the living", "Why did the ambulance whistle?" and the meticulous drama "The Missing".
