Interview with a fanatical "vine grower" (video)

a City Free Press, Ampelopoulia, Kynygi

The CITY website has dealt with and written many times about the issue of poaching of vines and what it brings to both the environment and the national economy.

This time, however, the children of CITY decided to see her differently and talk to the "others". Those who react to all these prohibitions. Those who staged a protest last summer (with thousands) against the EU and government efforts to impose harsher penalties on those arrested for hunting or selling illegal chickens.

What exactly do they want and why do they insist so much on this strange habit that they call "custom"? Are they right to shout that the state is pretending and that if Cyprus wanted, it could ask for an exemption from the strict European legislation? How many vines do they eat in the end? Is it true that they make millions on the black market from sales?

* For obvious reasons, anonymity will be maintained regarding the person who gave us the interview that follows.

How many swords do you use?
On average, each stomatouros (the people who used xoverga to get vines) sets up in a specially arranged space (stima) from 100 to 1000 xoverga depending on the size of the stima, the area and the type of estate. Of course, weather conditions also play an important role.
