According to the Police, yesterday a patrol of the Thera Service was for checks, in the context of combating poaching in the area "Ambaes", in Konia, when they noticed a person hunting in a permitted hunting area. At the same time, they heard a bird chirping at high volume from a sound-producing device. Approaching the specific person of the Thera Service, they found that in front of him was a sound production device. An examination of his data revealed that he was a Greek Cypriot from Limassol who possessed a shotgun, which was taken as evidence as well as the sound production device. He was also fined out of court for the amount of 500 euros.

In another case, members of the Thera Service located a second person in the same area in Konia who was in possession of two sound production devices and a shotgun, which were confiscated as evidence. The hunter was fined 500 euros.

Then, in the village of Timi, a 47-year-old man from the area of ​​Eleftheri Famagusta was found by members of the Thera Service to be in possession of a bird song player, which was in operation. After being located, the 47-year-old was taken to the Kouklia police station where he was fined 500 euros and his hunting rifle and the bird song player he owned were confiscated.

Finally, a 38-year-old man from the area of ​​Famagusta was located in an area of ​​the village of Mantria who also had in his possession a bird song player in operation.
