Cannabis seeds, poaching tools and dead wild birds were confiscated

A plantation with 37 cannabis plants was located and confiscated yesterday by members of YKAN, during a search in a village in the province of Limassol. A 56-year-old man was arrested and detained in connection with the case, in whose house dead wild birds and poaching tools were also found.

Specifically, early yesterday afternoon, members of YKAN, conducted a search, by virtue of a court warrant in the house and premises of the 56-year-old, in a village in the province of Limassol. During the search, a bird mimic machine, a bird trapping net, and 13 killed wild birds were found and confiscated inside a freezer.

Inside the storage area of ​​the 56-year-old's home, 34 plastic cups were found and confiscated, containing cannabis seeds. Subsequently, during an investigation while in an open area, near a riverbed, at a distance of about 100 meters from the 56-year-old's house, a plantation with 37 cannabis plants was located. The plants were uprooted and taken as evidence.

The 56-year-old was arrested on a warrant and remanded in custody to facilitate investigations.

YKAN (Morfou Provincial Ladder) continues the investigations related to drugs, while the offenses in violation of the Law on protection of wild birds and prey are being investigated by the Pedoulas Police Station.
