According to the Police, on March 30, while members of the YKAN Headquarters were in Xylotympou, on the territory of the British Dhekelia Bases for the investigation of information, they found 35 years from Xylotympou moving suspiciously in an open area.
Members of the British Base Police were immediately informed and visited the scene and after searching the area, they found in a tree a large white bag, in which there were two nylon bags containing green dry hemp plant material weighing about 2 kilos.
The 35-year-old was arrested by the police of the British Bases of Dhekelia and during a physical search he was found in possession of the amount of 900 euros.
By decree, the man was held in the detention facilities of the British Bases until yesterday, April 5, when he was handed over to members of YKAN Famagusta for further investigation of the case.
Yesterday afternoon, the 35-year-old was arrested with a court warrant and was taken into custody.
Today he is expected to appear before the District Court of Famagusta for issuance of a detention order as a suspect for the offenses of possession of a controlled Class B drug, possession of a controlled Class B drug for the purpose of supply, supply of a controlled drug to a Class B agent and money laundering.
