The hearing before the Famagusta District Court was postponed to September 21, 2016, for the case of burglary and theft of 29 thousand euros from a pharmacy in Ayia Napa, for which six people were charged, three women and three women aged 24, 27 29 years old, and three men, aged 19, 27 and 30, all from Greece.

The hearing was scheduled to begin today before the Court, but the defense attorneys of the six defendants asked for time to study the evidence.

The case came to light on August 16, 2016 when it was reported to the Famagusta Police Department by the 49-year-old owner of a pharmacy in Ayia Napa, that a black bag containing the amount of 29 thousand euros was stolen from his shop, which was under the counter. customer service of the store.

Members of TAE Famagusta visited the scene and from examinations found that the perpetrators managed to enter and exit the pharmacy through a side aluminum front door on the south side of the store.

The pharmacy has a closed surveillance system installed, which was inspected by the Police, who found that a few minutes after eight in the morning of August 16, an unknown man who had his face covered with a handkerchief and wearing white surgical gloves entered from the side. of the store immediately went to the place where the bag with the money was and after taking it he left the same place.

At the time of the theft the pharmacy was operating and employed three employees. The Police received various items from the pharmacy, which were sent for scientific examinations.

During the examination of the case, a testimony was obtained against two brothers, aged 24 and 30, from Greece, who live in Deryneia, who were arrested. A search of their home turned up nothing.

Four other people were arrested and charged in the same case, two women aged 29 and 27 and two men aged 19 and 27.
