Mayors and Commonwealths of the Free Province of Famagusta support the decision to house the District Office of the Department of Urban Planning and Housing and the District Cadastral Office of Famagusta in Famagusta.
In a written statement of the Mayors of Paralimni, Deryneia, Sotira, Ayia Napa and the Commonwealths of Liopetri, Avgoros, Frenaros, Achnas and Acheritos, it is stated that "through this statement, we wish to express our support for the decision to transfer the Provincial Housing and the District Cadastral Office of Famagusta, in our Province ".
It is added that "we warmly applaud the decision, which was taken in the interest of the region and the best possible service to the citizens of the free province of Famagusta, thus justifying a long-standing request of the residents of our region."
The written announcement continues, "this is a decision of the utmost importance for the people of the free province of Famagusta, both from a practical and symbolic point of view, as it ends the suffering of its citizens and upgrades the status of our province."
Therefore, it is noted that "any reactions against the decision to transfer the District Offices to our Province, are incomprehensible and do not serve the well-meaning interest of the free province of Famagusta, especially if one takes into account that there will be savings of 1,9 million euros in relation with the cost of renting for the next nine years in Larnaca ".
