Ayia Napa Police are investigating a case of assault and infliction of real bodily harm against a Russian tourist by his compatriot.

According to the Police, yesterday around one after midnight, a 27-year-old visitor from Russia was transported by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital.

The on-duty doctors, after examining the 27-year-old, found that he had a craniocerebral injury, a fracture of the left eyelid and subliminal cerebral hemorrhage due to a beating and was kept in hospital.

After examinations carried out by the Famagusta Police Department and the Ayia Napa Police Station, it was found that the victim was attacked for unknown reasons by a friend.

Police have secured a testimony against a 28-year-old Russian tourist who was arrested shortly after XNUMXam yesterday morning on a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.

The 28-year-old is expected to appear today before the Famagusta District Court for a detention order.

The case is being investigated by the Ayia Napa Police Station.
