Former Mayor of Paphos Savvas Vergas admitted guilt in 4 cases in the case of Paphos Landfill - Kosi Landfill yesterday, even offering the public, as compensation, two properties, which belong to companies of his interests.

During yesterday's hearing in the Criminal Court of Nicosia, Savva Verga's lawyer informed the court that his client pleads guilty to charges 65,68,69, 70, XNUMX and XNUMX of the indictment, which concern, among other things, harassment and abuse of power, and that he intends to donate. to the public, as compensation, the two aforementioned properties.

On April 5 the sentence

Due to this development, as well as the requests submitted by two other defendants for postponement, due to the fact that their lawyers appear in other trials, the court decided to postpone the case for May 8. He also set May 9,10,11,12,15,16,17,18 and 19 as the dates for the trial, asking the defense to inform the court of any requests, so that there can be timely planning.

The court also ruled that the defendants be released from the restrictive condition of appearing at a police station. In relation to the restrictive conditions, a request was submitted by the defense to return the political identity of the accused for banking purposes.

The court decided that this request should be considered at a later stage and after first reaching an agreement between the two parties on the issue. It was agreed that in the meantime, exact copies of the political identities of the accused will be issued, which, as mentioned in court, will be accepted for banking purposes.

It is recalled that the defendants in the case are thirteen individuals and three legal entities, facing a total of 104 charges.
