A total of 19 coastal points throughout Cyprus have the marking of the blue flag. The Blue Flag Program is essentially an education and information campaign.

The province of Famagusta holds a total of 23 Blue Flags out of a total of 63 awarded throughout free Cyprus.

The Municipality of Paralimni has 9 beaches, the Municipality of Ayia Napa has 13, while for the beach of Agia Thekla which is located on the Sotiras-Ayia Napa border, the Blue Flag is always awarded to the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
