Referring to immigration, an issue on which he has strongly criticized Chancellor Merkel's policy, Trump called immigration a "privilege and not a right" and stressed that the security of citizens should come first.
The US President also stressed the need to find a "peaceful" solution to the Ukraine crisis and thanked both Merkel and French President Francois Hollande for their efforts in this regard.
