A couple from Avgorou, aged 71 and 72, were arrested by the Police and are expected to be extradited to Greece for the offenses of fraud amounting to more than 250 thousand euros and for setting up a criminal organization.
According to the Police, yesterday, under European arrest warrants issued by the Greek authorities for the offenses of fraud amounting to 257.640 euros and the establishment of a criminal organization, a 71-year-old man and his 72-year-old wife were arrested by Avgorou.
The couple appeared before the Famagusta District Court for their extradition process in Greece. However, the procedure was postponed and set for 31/03/2016.
The two were released on bail, after handing over their travel documents and signing a guarantee with a worthwhile guarantor of € 50.000 each. The case is being investigated by the Famagusta TAE.
