An arson attack took place this morning in a car park in Ayia Napa, according to the Police.

As it is reported, around 02.10 today at dawn, information was received from the Famagusta Fire Department that there is a fire in a car sale yard located on Sotou Hadjiprokopiou Street in Ayia Napa.

Members of the Fire Service, the Ayia Napa Police Station and the Famagusta Police Department went to the scene.

Preliminary examinations carried out revealed that around 2 in the morning, unknown or unknown people contained liquid flammable material, a number of vehicles that were inside the fenced area of ​​the paddock and set it on fire.

The fire, which was extinguished by an employee living inside the yard, caused damage to two luxury vehicles, of hitherto unknown value.

The mantra belongs to a 48-year-old from Ayia Napa. The scene was cordoned off and guarded and with the first light of day the Police will continue the investigations.

The premises does not have security for causing malicious damage, however there is a closed monitoring circuit installed which will pass the necessary examinations by the Police.  

The case is being examined by the Famagusta Police Department.
