Members of the MMAD Poaching Squad found 377 cleaned wild birds and 52 with their plumage, as well as 14 live wild birds in captivity yesterday in the freezer of a house. Also, 57 live small wild birds that were in nets were released.

During a search of the 22-year-old's home, 372 cleaned wild birds packed in dozens were found in the freezer and confiscated, while another 52 wild birds were found in the refrigerator with their plumage, as well as a hare.
A search of the second 22-year-old's home turned up five cleaned wild birds in the freezer and confiscated them, as well as 14 wild birds in captivity, which were taken to be released.
The two arrested were charged in writing to be summoned before a court, while the injured police officers visited the Famagusta Hospital, where they received first aid and were fired.
