With the main examination of Christakis Antoniou, head of the ballistics laboratory of the Criminological Service of the Police Headquarters, the hearing process for the quadruple murder committed on the night of June 23, 2016 before the Larnaca-Famagusta Permanent Criminal Court continued today.

The victims of the attack were businessman Fanos Kalopsidiotis, police officer Elias Hadjiefuthymiou, his wife Skevi Hadjieffthymiou and Yiani Vogli, one of the perpetrators.

Defendants are 42-year-old Loy Dejan, 39-year-old Marios Christodoulou, 38-year-old Benny, 28-year-old Panagiotis Pentavkas and XNUMX-year-old Sofia Grigoriou, who are jointly facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, premeditated murder, attempted murder, and premeditated acts. bodily injury, possession of a B-class firearm, possession of a class A firearm, possession of a B-class firearm and possession of a class A firearm.

Answering questions from the representative of the Prosecution Authority Elli Papagapiou, the prosecution witness presented before the Court the assault rifle AK47 Kalashnikov found in the burnt car allegedly abandoned by the perpetrators of the deadly attack on Agia Kataspilon Street in N.

The witness also presented the Glock service pistol which was found next to the dead Yanni Vogli and the waist bag of police officer Elias Hadjiefthymiou and had a tear on one side caused by a firearm.
According to Mr. Antoniou, the Kalashnikov that was found in the burnt car "was burnt, completely destroyed and did not work", as a result of which it was repaired and test shots were fired.

At the suggestion of Ms. Papagapiou, the witness pointed to the Court fragments and fireballs that were found in various places in both the restaurant The Stone Garden where the quadruple murder took place and the burnt car.

In total, he explained, 28 7,62 mm caliber shells were found which were fired "by one and the same AK 47 Kalashnikov" but could not be identified with the Kalashnikov found in the burned car of the perpetrators, due to the extensive damage suffered. from the fire.

In contrast, five bullets found at the scene of the 9mm caliber murder were shot inside a semi-automatic pistol and identified with the Glock pistol allegedly used by the dead perpetrator Yanni Vogli.

A bullet was also presented to the Court, which was surgically removed from the left arm of MMAD police officer George Charalambous and it was identified that he was shot along with others from the same weapon, namely the Kalashnikov.

Fireballs and part of fireballs that were removed during the autopsy from the bodies of Fanos Kalopsidiotis and Elias Chatziefthymiou were also presented. According to the witness, "Elias Hadjiefthymiou was hit by cartridges from a Glock pistol and a Kalashnikov."

The ballistic examination also showed that MMAD police officer George Charalambous, who was sitting at the table of Fanos Kalopsidiotis on the night of June 23, 2016, did not use the USP service pistol that he had with him in his bag and was hanging in his chair when the shooting started. .

Regarding the other two dead, namely the Utensil of Hadjiefthymiou and one of the two perpetrators, Yanni Vogli, no bullets were removed because their wounds were transparent.

The hearing will continue tomorrow at 09.00 in the morning with the re-examination of Christakis Antoniou by the defense attorneys.
