Dhekelia: Wounded a British soldier and left the scene

A British soldier serving in the British Base of Dhekelia was injured in the right shoulder and right leg, when an unknown car injured him while walking with a colleague returning to his unit, while the driver of the vehicle left the scene.

According to the Police, shortly after 02:30 this morning, two British soldiers were walking on the Larnaca - Dhekelia coastal road in the direction of Dhekelia, returning to their unit after a night out.

At one point, while the soldiers were walking on the left side of the road, a car with unknown license plates moving towards Dhekelia, hit one of them and left the scene.

The 29-year-old soldier was transported by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of Larnaca General Hospital, where the doctors on duty found that he had injured his right shoulder and right leg.

The case is being investigated by the Oroklini Police Station, whose men went to the scene and proceeded to sketch the scene.
