The position that only with the solution of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of the island will the goal of ensuring the survival of the Cypriot Hellenism be achieved was expressed by the Secretary of the Council of Ministers Theodosis Tsiolas.

In his speech at the annual national memorial of the hero of EOKA 1955-'59 Georgios Karyou, in Astromeritis, Mr. Tsiolas stated that "with all the good will that distinguishes it, our side strives to achieve a result in the talks with the which we will restore the historical continuity in our place, a result which will prevent the complete and final Turkification of the northern occupied part of our country and will ensure the survival of the Cypriot Hellenism in its cradle ".

"This goal can be achieved in only one way: the final solution of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of our country," he noted.

According to the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, "the progress that has been made so far in the talks is significant".

"Governments, the economy, the European Union and property are nearing completion, and if the expected progress is made, then the territorial debate will move forward, which is the first time that the the Turkish side did, forty-two years after the illegal occupation and occupation of 37,8% of the Cypriot territory ".

"Territorial, as well as property, guarantees, the complete withdrawal of Turkish troops, will largely judge the final picture," he added.

"And for this final picture, Turkey will have to make its decisions by agreeing to the passage of Cyprus to another era, where Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots will be able to benefit from the benefits of the solution and chart a common path for a more hopeful "and a bright future, away from the hatreds and passions of the past," he said.
