The House of Commons today approved the "Draft Law of the European Union (notification of withdrawal)", the bill that authorizes the government and Prime Minister Theresa May to start negotiations on the UK's withdrawal from the European Union.

At the same time, MPs voted against an amendment to the bill, which had been tabled by the House of Lords, which provided that any agreement on Brexit would have to be submitted to the British Parliament for approval.

The amendment was voted against by the deputies with 331 votes against and 286 in favor.
