The mayor of Karditsa, Vassilis Tsiakos and the municipal councilor and responsible for the mobility week, Socrates Pappas, had an experiential experience.
In collaboration with the Prefectural Association of Karditsa, people with disabilities toured central parts of the city in a wheelchair.
The aim of the action was to experience the problems faced by people with disabilities in their daily travels in the city of Karditsa.
Many road access bars have been found to be unsuitable for wheelchair access, with potholes and damage. Also sidewalks are occupied by obstacles, such as bicycles parked by their owners wherever they find them.
Mr. Tsiakos requested the assistance of the Prefectural Association of Karditsa for the disabled in order to find solutions and set priorities.
