One of the most important "breaths" of freedom was announced yesterday afternoon during the information about the evolution of the pandemic at the Ministry of Health. The abolition of the obligation to use a mask outdoors is a fact and has entered into force as of today.

Despite all the discussions that took place in the past and the scenarios that came to light, the scientists after their meeting yesterday decided that this measure should apply to everyone, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not. It is noted, however, that the obligation may have been abolished, but the recommendation for its use remains, in cases where overcrowding is observed.

At the same time, the mask remains mandatory indoors without exception. "That is, we are allowed to take off the mask only where there is no synchronicity. We consider the mask as the most important protection against the coronavirus ", said the professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Vana Papaevangelou.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias announced a series of measures that will enter into force soon and bring full regularity one step closer.

One of these, perhaps the most important, is that the night traffic ban is lifted from July 28, while the self-tests for fully vaccinated workers and those who go to gyms are also abolished, 15 days after the completion of the second dose of vaccination. .

Specifically, from June 28:

The night traffic ban is lifted

The obligation of self test for the employees and the athletes in the gyms is removed, 15 days after the completion of their vaccination

In focus, the six people per table increase to 10

At the receptions the upper limit is set at 300 people

Up to 120 people per 1.000 sq.m. are allowed on the organized beaches

Vaccinated and unvaccinated civil servants, who belong to the high risk groups (category B), can return to work in person. The same applies to employees of high risk groups (A category), but in positions that have no contact with the public.

At the same time, it was announced for the public sector that employees belonging to high or high risk groups can return to their jobs in person. The high risk (category a ') will be in places that have no contact with the public. Especially for the medical staff will be judged on a case by case basis.

The way of serving the public in the public sector is also redefined, preferably - but not exclusively after scheduled appointments, based on the rules that apply to retail, ie one person per 16 sqm and using a mask even outdoors if queues have formed.
