He lost his two-and-a-half-year-old son by drowning, a police officer serving in the Passport Department of Eleftherios Venizelos.
According to the Union of Police Officers of Southeastern Attica, his 2,5-year-old son drowned from a food he ate while he was in the private kindergarten.

"The President and the members of the Board of Directors of the Union of Police Officers of Southeastern Attica, express their heartfelt condolences to the family of our colleague, who serves in the Passport Department of Athens International Airport and who lost his Half (2,5) year old son .
The death of the child came from drowning due to food and while he was in a private kindergarten. Along with our grief and pain, we also express our indignation at the way this childish soul, which for days now has been fighting for its life, has fallen into this state with the consequence of leaving life.
We stand by our dear colleague and friend in order to support him in every way, on the one hand to find the strength to face the untold tragedy and on the other hand to punish the criminal negligence of those responsible, if any, in order to prevent similar incidents in the future. The only sure thing is that a little angel is gone. "
