The doctors were shocked by the image of the baby carrying wounds all over his body, with his wounds allegedly caused by mouse bites. The baby is missing pieces of skin in various parts of the body and face.
Extreme negligence was found by the doctors of the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis (PGNA), who took care of an infant who had bites, most likely from mice.

Doctors said most of the skin on his nose, part of his cheek and arm, had been removed and part of his bones had been exposed.

According to Dimitris Adamidis, commander of PGNA, in his statements to AMPE, the baby is in the hands of plastic surgeons and pediatric surgeons, who will undertake the rehabilitation operations.

Doctors who conclude that the injuries have been caused by rodent bites are concerned about the risk of leptospirosis and have performed all the necessary tests. An infant who is only 3,5 months old is not in danger of losing his life, but he needs intensive care.

"These injuries cause excruciating pain and the baby's reaction could not have gone unnoticed, even if they were caused by a mouse, it is likely to have happened repeatedly," the PGN commander said.

Police sources say the 22-year-old father of the child and his 16-year-old mother have been arrested on charges of exposing a minor to danger. This is a Roma family that lived on the hill of the castle of Kale in Didymoteicho.
