Accused of usury and pedophilia is, according to the information of MEGA, the professor who was beaten at ASOEE on Tuesday afternoon.
As Vassilis Lambropoulos told MEGA, the police link the attack with a pending judicial investigation. This is a case of financial crime and then there is the issue of investigating the sexual exploitation of minors.
Initially, the professor himself had linked the attack to three witnesses, who had been involved in the case, and even spoke of a "directed attack" against him.
Accused of two offenses
According to the latest information, the professor himself is initially accused from the period 2018-2019 for a fraud case, where he allegedly misled many people with the well-known "trick" of the "pyramid".
That is, he talked about a profitable investment, he received large sums of money, he paid some interest and supposed benefits to the "customers". However, he continued to withhold the amounts, as a result of which he was charged with this crime.
But then there were newer data from testimonies of three teachers. One of them stated that when he visited the offices of the group set up by the professor in Romania, he found out that he was sexually exploiting minors. In fact, relevant reports were made at the University of Athens.
This is the reason why there was a new judicial investigation and it seems, according to the police, that this whole network of investigations is connected with today's attack.
Because he was still in his place
Police and judicial authorities say that the professor remained in his position because he had not finalized any of the judicial investigations.
While it is worth noting that in the past he held state positions, having been placed in various committees.
