According to Vassilis Kikilias, the country is heading for a total lockdown for a month. Mitsotaki announcements on Thursday.

The latest numbers of EODY for the cases of coronavirus and mainly the number of intubated people force the government and Kyriakos Mitsotakis to accept the long-standing suggestion of the infectious disease specialists for a general lockdown in the country. On the morning of Thursday, November 5, and specifically at 12:00, the Prime Minister together with Sotiris Tsiodras are expected to announce the lockdown to the March standards and it remains to be clarified what the conditions are and what will remain open and what will close.

According to information from the website ethnos.gr, Kyriakos Mitsotakis has in his hands the proposal of the infectious disease specialists, which includes a 15-day lockdown and measures in the standards of Thessaloniki. It remains for the government to decide whether to faithfully implement the above plan, something that will be announced by the prime minister on Thursday in the briefing he will make with Sotiris Tsiodras. At the moment the scenarios are many, the most probable, however, is that only the schools will remain open while there is the possibility, as happened in Thessaloniki, to close levels of education and not the whole.

The government comes to this decision, as the pressure exerted on the health system is too great while in Thessaloniki things with ICUs are more than marginal. This fact in combination with the recent outbreak of cases forces the Prime Minister to proceed with the implementation of the proposal of infectious disease specialists despite the initial intention to take measures only of a local nature.
