The Ministry of Defense announced that on March 13, 2016 at 08:46, the Larnaca KSED received information from the Limassol Port and Maritime Police Operations Center that a man was in danger in the sea area of Kavo Greko (Agioi Anargyroi).
The KSED, immediately activated the National Special Rescue Search Plan "NEARCHOS" sending a boat of the Port and Maritime Police of Paralimni with rescuers and divers as well as a helicopter of the Air Operations Unit (MAEP) of the Police.
After searches of the air rescue means under adverse weather conditions, the missing man was found dead and was pulled from the bottom at 10:35 with the participation of volunteer divers. The unfortunate man was first transported to the Paralimni Fishing Shelter and then by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital.
Police have undertaken the further investigation of the circumstances under which the incident took place.
