Austria is the first country from February 1, 2022 to impose fines of up to 600 every three months on those citizens over the age of 14 who are not vaccinated against coronavirus.

It should be noted that Austria has been in a universal lockdown since mid-November, which is scheduled to last until Sunday 12 December.

The exceptions

From 15 February all permanent residents of Austria who have not been vaccinated will receive an invitation to be vaccinated on specific dates and from 15 March fines will be imposed.

A period of 1-2 days will be allowed between the 14st and 42nd dose, and the 3rd dose should be given 120-270 days after the 2nd.

Invalid certificates

By the same token, 28.423 vaccination certificates are now invalidated in Austria, as their validity was originally set at 360 days, but is now reduced to 270.

The country's ski resorts are currently open only for vaccinated and sick people, but one can not stay overnight in a hotel or visit a restaurant.

Cases have decreased
