Policemen were injured tonight in Tirana, during a demonstration organized by the opposition, where violence broke out, seeking the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as it became known by the Albanian government. At least 15 protesters have faced problems after inhaled tear gas, which flew the police against them, informed the Democratic Party, which issued a call for mobilization with the MSI party.

The Interior Ministry spoke of five injured police officers, without going into details about the severity of their injuries. They were all taken to hospitals, according to a police source. The demonstration started late in the afternoon with the participation of thousands of people in a tense atmosphere, as reported by the journalists of the French News Agency. Protesters managed, in many cases, to break the police cordon, throw stones and smoke against law enforcement forces. In addition, they managed to get close to the government headquarters and threw paint on the facade of the building, before heading to Parliament. A car caught fire in front of the building. "Rama, resign!", "Corrupt government!" protesters shouted, among other things.

For his part, Eddy Rama condemned the violent riots and said that opposition parties had taken "the path of self-destruction". In a speech to protesters, Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha called for "early elections", the formation of a "transitional government" and the "departure of the Rama government". "I call on you to resist and revolt to overthrow Rama!" shouted the crowd.
