The Pentagon announced yesterday that the United States and South Korea have agreed to postpone indefinitely two new joint military exercises in support of ongoing diplomatic efforts with North Korea, following a summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un in on the 12th of June.

"To support the implementation of the results of the Singapore Summit and in cooperation with our ally the Republic of Korea, Secretary Matisse has indefinitely suspended selected high schools," Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White said Friday.

"This includes the suspension of FREEDOM GUARDIAN along with two high schools with naval training exchange programs scheduled for the next three months," White said.

The United States and South Korea announced earlier this week the postponement of joint military exercises called the Ulchi Freedom Guardian, scheduled for August.
