Macron: Third dose from September in the elderly and vulnerable

French President Emanuel Macron today confirmed that his government is preparing to launch a vaccination campaign for a third repeat vaccine against covid-19 after the end of the summer holidays from September "for the most vulnerable and the elderly".

"Yes, it seems that a third dose will be needed, not for everyone immediately but in any case for the older and more vulnerable (…) at this stage, but at every step we learn", Macron explained in a video he shot alone at Berganson Castle, the summer residence of French presidents, and uploaded it to his Instagram account.

Macron had already announced on July 12 that there would be a third, booster dose of the vaccine against covid-19 for the elderly and the most vulnerable, something that other countries will do, including Israel.

At the beginning of August, Germany announced that it would propose from 1 September a third repeat dose of the vaccine against covid-19 for the elderly, the vulnerable but also for those who have not been vaccinated with mRNA technology.
