A small plane crashed into a house in California

Five dead

Five people died in California, USA, when a small plane crashed into a house, causing it to be engulfed in flames.

The incident took place on Sunday in the Yorba Linda area, located 56 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles. The pilot of the aircraft and four occupants of the house were killed, while two more people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to a neighbor, at the time of the crash, the occupants of the house were having a party for the Super Bowl.

A spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Council said the plane crashed shortly after takeoff from a nearby airport.

Parts of the plane were thrown into the surrounding streets in at least four blocks, but also on the roofs of houses, with residents trying to put out the fires caused by the tires in their gardens.

"I heard a boom. I ran outside thinking someone had hit my daughter's car. I looked up and saw a huge piece. I did not know what it was. Then I saw a huge cloud of smoke rising in the sky. It was awful. "As I was returning to the yard, I saw the house burning," an eyewitness told CBS.

The school in the area will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, as investigations are carried out.
