The prime minister of Italy, Giuseppe Conte, will take over the presidency, according to the leader of the Five Stars, Luigi di Maio, after the meeting he had a little earlier with the president of Italy.
Giuseppe Conte is a law professor. The Italian media describe Conte as relatively unknown.
His appointment comes more than two months after the March elections.
