The popularity of South Korean President Moon Jae-in has reached unprecedented levels to a president who is in power already a year after his historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

More than three in four voters approve of Moon's actions, according to a poll conducted by Realmeter, a percentage unprecedented for his predecessors after a year in power.

Realmeter explains that Moon's high popularity is due to "growing public expectations about the denuclearization of North Korea and the achievement of peace on the Korean Peninsula" after Friday's historic meeting with Kim.

Now 78,3% of respondents approve of the actions of the South Korean president, marking an increase of eight points after Friday.
